Have A Productive Day

Aloha and goooooooooood morning! It's another beautiful day here in Hilo, (beautiful is defined by any day that doesn't start with a torrential rain storm) and it's going to be a day to spin plates. Remember the old acts on shows like The Ed Sullivan Show, where someone would come out and spin plates on poles? They'd get a few going, and add more as they went along....all the while keeping the already spinning plates in motion, and usually getting to them right before they come crashing down? Well, today is going to be like that. On the to do list today, in no particular order:

-Finish off three more ukulele charts and tracks for my next session

-Get my hair cut

-Get a pedicure

-Go to my bi-weekly acupuncture session

-File my tax extension

-Pressure wash the gutters

-Go food shopping/make dinner

-Finalize my set list for my virtual house concert this Sunday, (more about that later)

So, that's what today looks like...and as always, I'm sure a few other things will pop up during the day. I think back on when Leialoha and I were last on a ship, and thought about how busy I thought we were, and I realize that compared to what goes on while we are at home, we were kind of slacking. LOL Seriously though, I may have to go back to work to be able to chill out. It's funny, because when the whole pandemic thing started last year, and you were told that the best thing to do would be to stay at home, I thought that I had finally found my calling....sitting on the couch and watching Netflix. Well, I'm here to tell you that the couch/Netflix trip didn't last but a day or so...and I realized that I just wasn't made for laziness and non-productivity.

Anyway, the day is just about to kick off, but before it does, I want to remind everyone that coming up this Sunday, (May 16th) at 7:30pm Eastern Time, I will be performing a house concert on Zoom with the amazing Charissa Hoffman. This is something that is being out together by Ken Mattson, a wonderful performer in his own right, and will be Charrisa and I splitting two sets of music. She is a wonderful singer/songwriter and an amazing jazz ukulele player...something that I'm sure you will all love. You can see some of her videos on her YouTube Channel:

I'm also excited about the show, as I will have the amazing Vic Chock joining me. Many of you tuned in to see us a few months ago doing Two Guys with Two Ukes and I have a few surprises in store if you tune on. I honestly think Vic is one of the most talented musicians I know, and he and I have always had a musical connection that I can't really explain. In Hawaiian, you would say that we're in each others "NA'AU"...which means, literally, "guts". We pretty much know what the other guy is going to do before they do it. We always have fun, and the audience always enjoys it...so don't miss it. There will be a virtual reception afterwards on Ken's Kumospace

So, go out and as my Mom used to say to us each morning as we left for school, "have a productive day"!
